This summer I have developed a love for swimming.......in our cold, cold, pool. Yes, you heard me right. As a matter-of-fact some days it truly is ice cold. But I love it! Call me crazy or listen to my explanation below:
After working up a sweat from a long run or an even longer dance party, jumping in feels very refreshing!!
The shock of cold you get from jumping right in, then the immediate feeling of relief once the water feels oh so warmer when you stay underneath. I am starting to really enjoy it! After all these years when people have told me "Just jump in!" while I slowly work my way under shivering the whole way down, I have finally learned...
It is truly easier when you "just jump in"!

Oddly enough, this relates to our own lives. While we tend to ease into things with caution and care, wondering what the outcome will be or worrying about it, we truly should "just jump in". It may seem scary or risky at first but it will all fall into place once you take the initial leap. And just like in the pool when you finally warm up to the situation, you will love it and be glad you went for it. Most likely you will have a big cheesy smile on your face like I did, too!
So next time you start to "test the waters" at the nearest swimming pool or lake or or even in every day life, stop. Be adventerous, jump in, remember the cold part only lasts a short time, and I guarentee you 100% you will be glad you went for it!
